Bright Nights

Happy Friday everyone! This was an outfit I wore last weekend for my 2 year anniversary with Dave! Sometimes it feels like just yesterday we started dating, most of the time though I can't believe it's only been 2 years! We were head over heels for each other at one time back in high school but circumstances kept us apart (I had a boyfriend lol). We went on with our lives and got back in touch four years later (Facebook is good for something), and well the rest is history. 

For our date I kept it simple (though I guess I always keep it simple) with a bright blue top, distressed jeans and nude pumps. We had an amazing night in a little alcove in a little bar drinking wine and eating lobster, listening to good music and watching the Bruins. My kind of date. The boy knows how to keep a smile on my face ❤

Today is a special Work It Wednesday because it's my last day at the hospital! Well at this hospital. Today I finish my patient-doctor class at Mass General Hospital; starting late April I'll be doing all of my rotations at Brigham and Women's! I guess it sort of makes it a special Work It Wednesday.

Bathtubs and Relaxation

So yesterday I just finished my last exam of my pre-clinical years in medical school (woohoo, done with the first 2 years of med school)! Unfortunately I still have the big boards coming up and lots of studying still has to get done (blah blah blah). What am I really thinking about though? A nice long bath. Not the kind in a crappy little shower thing, a real bath. And for that, a claw-foot tub is necessary. So let the chic claw-foot tub dreaming begin.

Ok that last one is straight up dreaming. Like the first three could possibly happen when I buy a house, but a big old tub by the ocean? Haha I like to dream big ;)

A Little Bit of Weekend

Just a few snapshots of my weekend! I spent most of it back home in Springfield celebrating St. Patty's day with friends (after my lovely 4 hour practice exam). What a gorgeous weekend it was (not much beats driving into the sunset with my boy and my iced caramel macchiato, yum)! I hope you all enjoyed your weekends and are ready for another week!

Studying for this huge test (Step I of my USMLE) makes the time fly (I guess time not only flies when you're having fun, but also when you're in a race to memorize everything you've ever learned about the human body). New Shoes, Spring Shoes

A cute shot I got of our feet as we waited for the T Saturday night - date night! Which consisted of a delicious dinner, lots of giggling, and chugging our beers so we wouldn't be late for the movie (we finally saw Safe House)! I'm wearing my new favorite nude heels (found here). Happy Friday everyone! This week's Friday's Fancies is all about Spring Break. And although as a medical student I don't get a spring break (we get a few weeks off to study for a huge exam), I gave myself a spring break anyway. Dave and I will be heading to an all-inclusive resort in Cancun in late April, right after my huge exam and right before I start full time in the hospital. For me this vacation is all about relaxation, so my vacation wardrobe will be easy and relaxed - most of the time I'll just be in my bikini drinking some fruity alcoholic concoction anyway. Happy Work It Wednesday! It's time to show us your work-appropriate looks! I cheated this week and snapped pictures of what I wore for date night with Dave this weekend. I kept it pretty conservative so this look could work for dinner and drinks or a day at the office! The flash unfortunately makes the knit top a little more see-through than it actually is, and we all know a see-through top, or anything see-through for that matter, is not work-appropriate!

A comfy layered outfit I wore for a Saturday spent in Newport, Rhode Island, eating sea salt dark chocolate, taking in the ocean, and doing a little shopping. Forgot to snap a picture with my new bag which makes me sad because I love it so much! But it's ok, you guys will see it another time :)

Weekend In Newport

This weekend Dave and I got away. Just an hour from home, it wasn't too far, but it was just enough. We went to Newport, Rhode Island, one of our favorite places in the whole wide world! Something about this little gem of a town is just so magical every time we go, and this weekend was no different. A perfect little recharge for my batteries that were quickly draining.

We stayed in a gorgeous suite at the Pearls Boutique Hotels and couldn't have picked a more amazing place to be at. Ray the owner made sure we had everything we needed, even extra bottles of wine or more logs for the fireplace. Brian the chef made us an amazing breakfast that made us feel like royalty (which we are very far from, we're not very used to being catered to). Everyone was so welcoming and everything was so beautiful we contemplated asking how much rent would be so we could just move in. Needless to say we will be back. I hope you all had recharging weekends! Back to the work week, back on the grind! xoxo

Puerto Rico Trip

It's always around this time of year when many us folks in New England start yearning for warm weather. You know, when you're dreaming of wearing cute spring outfits and even attempt to wear one (ahem, my Work It Wednesday outfit) and then mother nature slaps you back into reality by throwing you some snow. Yeah it's that time. I'm not complaining, it's part of living up here and it's really not that bad, especially when you have fond memories of warm weather and lots and lots of piña coladas. Here are a few pics of exactly that during our trip to Puerto Rico last March!
